All Relay For Life volunteers need a variety of skills to successfully complete their volunteer roles, whether they are Event Leads or a committee member. This year the National Campus Leadership Team has created two training paths - Leadership Development and Event Based Skills – in an effort to fulfill our mission to equip all campus volunteers with the skills and resources they need to be successful volunteers with the American Cancer Society. All volunteers can benefit from additional training and personal growth in both areas. Please reach out to us if you would like additional support!
Leadership Development is training related to emotional intelligence that helps you work more effectively with others, both within your American Cancer Society involvement and outside of it. Training content includes management, communication, conflict resolution, and more.
Event Based Skills training focuses on the technical aspects of hosting an American Cancer Society event on campus, whether that be a traditional Relay For Life or Raise Your Way fundraisers. Training content includes Day of Event Experience, Recruitment, Innovation, and more.
