Relay For Life

We hope to exist someday in a world where cancer does not. Relay For Life is a global movement that gives everyone the opportunity to Celebrate the lives of those who have battled cancer, Remember loved ones lost, and Fight Back against a disease that has taken far too much. Every year, millions of people all over the world participate to raise funds for cancer research, patient programs, and support other crucial pieces of the American Cancer Society mission. In joining together as communities, we make a greater impact in the fight than we could ever hope to make alone. Our inspirational and entertainment-filled events take place overnight to symbolize that cancer never sleeps. In the United States, there are over 600 high school and collegiate Relay For Life events, and 1 in 9 students in America will graduate with “Relay For Life” on their resume.. Here are some other great Relay For Life-oriented events held by CAC chapters:

  • Hosting a multi-college Relay (great if there are multiple colleges in an area)

  • Participating in Paint the Campus Purple

  • Fundraising for a local Relay on campus with a car wash

  • Mentoring a "rookie" Relay to help it get started
